SARA President -This is a leadership position that requires some knowledge in all areas of Alpine Racing.  Must be able to lead the organization, delegate responsibilities and be able to travel some to various mountains to meet members of SARA

ACC Chair  (Alpine Committee Chair)- This is an extremely important position as it is the axis to the direction of SARA racing.  Must be extremely education in SARA policies, USSA guidelines & Rules, having coaching experience and is an Alpine Official.

SARA Secretary – This position requires flexible schedule (hours).  Suitable for someone who works part time or is retired.  Must have experience in word, excel, social media, website (word press), typing and knowledge of Alpine Racing

Winterplace is hosting once again our annual spring meeting on April 28th at 10am.  All board members are required to attend.  If for some reason, a board member cannot attend, please notify the secretary Heidi Crandall at hatcreekfarm@gmail.com

2 sets of gatekeepers on Saturday are needed  for the slalom race. That is approximately 8 keepers per race….16 total

Sunday is the GS Would be nice to have a 2 sets of gatekeepers here.

Hand Timers are needed also 2 timers at the start and 2 timers at the finish.  A rotation of volunteers for hand timers would be great (remember number of races)

Comp lift tickets will be only give to volunteers who are gate keeping or hand timing.

Qualifying For Post Season

Qualifying for races after SARA championships

We  take the three best race results from the four races during SARA regular season.

We take the best two of three race results from races at SARA championships.

From the results of these races the SARA state team will be selected: Top five females and top five males.  In event of a tie we will go to the next best finish.

Post Season Selection

The top two female and top two male will be given the option to go to Whiteface.

The third through sixth place finishers, female and male will be given the option to go to Okemo.

Post Season Events

J1-2 has two post season events.

The first race series is   J1-2 Eastern USSA Finals held at Okemo Mountain in Vermont.

March 4-7, 2012   SARA has 8 entries.  The series consist of training Super G,

Super G, GS and SL.

Entry deadline is Feb 26, 2012

The second race series is J1-2 Eastern Regional Junior Finals (FIS) held at Whiteface

Mountain, New York March 9-13, 2012.  This is a FIS race, partisans must have a FIS

License.  SARA has 4 entries.  The series consist of two Super G, GS and SL.

Entry deadline is March 1, 2012

Unless otherwise noted, the primary assembly area for all race events, including sign-in will be at the Lookout building, near the Plunge tubing area. There is parking right outside this building. If you come up the mountain to the first stop sign and take a right turn the road will take you right to the Lookout Building.
