SARA FALL MEETING - NOVEMBER 6TH, 10AM AT WINTERPLACE RESORT, WV
The SARA Fall meeting is Saturday, November 6th, 10am at Winterplace Resort, WV. This is a mandatory meeting for the Board of Directors. We will continue to discuss the upcoming seasons, the new changes taking place and other agenda items. All SARA members are welcome to attend the meeting. You can learn a lot about USSA and our organization by listening to the discussions during the meeting.

SEAN MCKEE (STUMPY) IS THE NEW SARA PRESIDENT

With the retirement of Bob Brigham in June came the call for a new SARA president. Frist, we must extend a warm and heart felt thank you to Bob for his many years of volunteerism, coaching and leadership. Bob will remain active in USSA as he will coach and TD when possible in the northern region.

Now, as Stumpy takes the leadership role of president, he is excited for the season this year. Stumpy has been involved in SARA for many years as a coach, J1/2 chair and working for Sugar Mtn in the race department. If you do not know Stumpy, take the time to meet him whether at Sugar or at another mountain during the race season.

J3 SARA 2010 State Team Selection

The J1/2/3 championships at Snowshoe are over and the J3 SARA State Team was announced at the Awards ceremony.

J3 STATE TEAM

The J 1 & J2 athletes had awesome conditions to compete in. The 3 courses were completely reset each day-amazing. The J1 & J2 State Team was announced at the awards ceremony. Congratulations to all of you!

SARA RACER WINS SUPER G MEDALS AT GORE MOUNTAIN, NEW YORK

Mallory Crandall won 2 medals in the Super G races held at Gore Mountain during J2 Finals. Mallory placed 7th and 10th in the two races. It was a proud moment for the SARA organization to see one of our racers on the podium not once but two times. During the week long events, speed intervals were set up. During the Super G, a section called the “autobon” was recorded. Mallory had the fastest woman’s time in that section on the second Super G race. The scoreboard would circle the fastest time of that day for men and women. To have a Virginia racer on the scoreboard with the fastest interval was amazing. Mallory loves speed events so much that she wished there was a third super G race at finals. Congratulations Mallory!
